Spread Love

A 12 track pop album (54m 47s) — released January 1st 2000 on COUNTERPOINT RECORDS

'Spread Love' was originally released in 1976 on the Detroit based 'Sunstar' label. Largely ignored when it was first issued, it has since gained cult status among soul collectors worldwide. Inspired by the musical vision of Quincy Jones, Michael Orr and bass player Carey Harris assembled a cast of musicians and vocalists to create a timeless masterpiece which effortlessly blends soul, jazz, funk and gospel influences. 'It's not often that we review reissue albums as album of the month. But then it's not often that one comes across an album of such majesty and beauty that it leaves you breathless.' - London Zok 'How could this masterpiece be left out in the cold for so long? Follow your head and your heart and enjoy this chapter of black music's soulful heritage' - Dr. Bob Jones 'A beautiful collection' - Groove (France)'
